BarakAllaahu Feek (ameen) On Saturday, October 24th 2009, Sirat al Sayf International, MMA and the United Muslim Martial Artist Association (UMMAA) International in conjunction with Warriors Within Dojo, Inc. will be hosting an its First Annual UMMAA International Workshop/Seminar Award Banquet Dinner called “VANGUARDS OF THE SUNNAH”. This event will be facilitated by Muslim Grandmasters from various styles of martial arts. Along with these extremely talented and renown Martial Artists, we will also be privileged to have amongst us some prominent Muslim speakers, such as: Imam Jamil Azeez (Masjid Ahlul Qur’aan Wa Sunnah in South Ozone Park, NY), Muhammad Yasin (Graduate of Madinah University), and Zahid Rashid (Graduate of Madinah University and President of Al-Baseerah.Org), among others. This is the first of its kind and an historical event. For the first time in history, The United Muslim Martial Artist Association (UMMAA) International will be having awards given to recipients that reflect the Sahabiyyun (Companions) (RA) of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and some of our true "role models". Some examples of these prestigious awards are as follows: - The Hamza (RA) Award (By Allaah (SWT)’s mercy, each year this award will be given to a Muslim martial artist who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, devotion to the Deen, productive administrative abilities, strong character, loyalty and excellence )
- The Khalid bin Walid (RA) Award (Insha Allaah (SWT), each year this award will be given to three Muslim martial artists who exhibit sound character, upright judgment, devotion to the Deen, and his unrelenting bravery in teaching the martial arts to our ummah.)
- The Sa’d ibn Waqaas (RA) Award (With the guidance of Allaah (SWT), this annual award will be reserved for a very special Muslim martial artist who holds the traits of Sa’d ibn Waqaas. Please read the history of this great companion. Insha Allaah, you will be intrigued and perhaps inspired.)
- The Abu Hurairah (RA) and the Umm Salamah (RA) Award (Insha Allaah (SWT), every year these awards will be given to three students of knowledge who painstakingly devote his/her time and energy disseminating knowledge to our ummah, acquiring wisdom with true Islamic knowledge, and for their diligence, tenacity, compassion and eloquence in giving da'wah.)
- The Nusaybah (RA) Award (By the mercy of Allaah (SWT), each year this award will be given to Muslim sisters who have demonstrated great courage, modesty, outstanding devotion to the Deen, in keeping within the tenets of Islam while overcoming adversities.)

Unite the practitioners of all known Martial Arts under an umbrella of "international brotherhood" and cooperation - recognizing the merits of all styles and schools as being equally relevant and appreciated. Any and all Muslim Martial Artist will be welcomed and mutually respected, providing they adhere to the tenets of "La ilaha il Allah Muhammadar Rasuullah. (There's no god but Allah, and Muhammad is HIS (swt) Messenger)". We also welcome any and all Grandmasters, Masters, Sensei, Shidoshis, Gurus, etc., to become members of this prestigious community.
. Overcome the petty rivalries and jealousies that pervade so many similar societies and to relegate competition to "sporting events". No politics and no denigration of any Muslims or styles will be tolerated, and the Council will aggressively defend any who are unjustly or unfairly treated within the community.
. Establish a unique "Code of Ethics" for members that will be welcomed and subscribed to by martial arts organizations, clubs and practitioners worldwide. It is required that we uphold the five pillars of faith, the tenets of Islam, loyalty to fellow martial artist and sincere devotion to the martial arts. This tradition must be diligently upheld.
. Maintain a high-ranking International Honorary-Board, whose members are drawn from prominent Muslim scholars, grandmasters, martial arts legends and fighting sports champions. UMMAA International has a high-ranking executive committee, which consists of Muslim Grandmasters and Gurus.
. Create high-ranking Muslim Martial Art experts from all over the world to teach the religion of Islam in accordance to the Qur'aan and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In addition, UMMAA International intends to maintain contacts in different international and national recognized professional associations.
. Appoint representatives in areas around the world, develop ongoing communication networks, host annual banquets, promotions, seminars, and "Good Will Tours" that serve to demonstrate our arts in a halal manner
